Memories

What about a memory corner? If you're a vintage lover this could be a great way to create a memorabilia wall. Chose a time you love, Reinassance, steampunk objects from the Industrial revolution, Romanticism or whatever you like. Then start collecting or go fetch anything you can find related to this period. Illustrations, pictures and portraits can be mixed up with similar frames and a painted background. Here they are all gathered in the corner walls of a staircase.

Scegli un periodo che ami, Rinascimento, oggetti steampunk della rivoluzione industriale, Romanticismo o qualunque cosa ti appassioni. Poi colleziona e cerca qualunque cosa relativa al periodo. Trophies

Animal trophies can be disturbing objects at first sight, still there is a tradition of respect for the animal in the art of taxidermy. But if you don't love the idea to hang the head of a dead animal in your home (and I'd personally prefer not to), remember that trophies can be made out of many materials like ceramics, paper or wood, and they are easy to find being particularly in vogue. Also, I've come across wonderful art trophies made by very talented artists. Here the trophy and the head of a woman are mixed up with more traditional paintings and create a very stylish composition.

I trofei animali sono oggetti che possono creare repulsione, nonostante ci sia una tradizione di rispetto dell'animale nell'arte della tassidermia. Ma se, come me, non amate l'idea di appendere la testa di un animale morto in casa, ricordate che i trofei possono essere fatti di molti materiali, come la ceramica, la carta o il legno, e si trovano facilmente essendo particolarmente di moda. Inoltre, mi è capitato di vedere fantastici trofei d'arte, creati da artisti eccellenti. Moreover, you will see those images every day, so be sure to pick something that you particularly like, not just the first thing you come across with. No matter the price. The wall in the picture plays with the concepts of geometry, nature and coral, and helps creating a relaxing and energetic environment at the same time, perfect for your dream home on an island.

Da dove cominci quando guardi il muro vuoto del tuo soggiorno che aspetta di essere riempito di opere d'arte? Personalmente sceglierei subito un tema. Drops - Summer

These works tell a story of soil giving abundant harvests, of dry, hot air of a raging summer. Of seedlings becoming mature under the sun, of promises made for the year coming. And of golden rains pouring over the fields.

Le opere raccontano una storia di terre che regalano abbondanti raccolti, dell'aria secca e calda di una torrida estate. Di semi che maturano al sole, di promesse fatte per l'anno a venire. E piogge dorate che cadono sui campi.

I created an abstract background which was completed with ink drawings. These artworks are watercolor and ink drawing on Italian Fabriano 100% cotton paper. I've created four artworks measuring 11,7x8,3 inches that is 30x21 centimetres.

Ho creato uno sfondo astratto che ho completato con disegni ad inchiostro. Queste opere sono state realizzate con acquerello e inchiostro sula splendida carta Fabriano 100% cotone che uso solitamente. Si tratta di quattro opere in formato A4 (30x21 cm).

The Nights

From Recollections of the Arabian Nights By Lord Tennyson

This new series of paintings is completely inspired to the ancient collection of Asian stories One Thousand and One Nights better known as the Arabian Nights. The collection is a marvellous juxtaposition of voices, characters, places, songs, riddles, Peoples and cultures. And this complexity is what I tried to evoke with the colors and lines. 

The artworks are watercolors and ink on high quality 300gr/mq rough 100% cotton Italian paper measuring 50x50 cm ( 19.7x19.7 inches) the 4 square ones, and 70x50 cm (27.50x19.7 inches) the rectangular one. 

The titles are dedicated to the charachters of the Tales: Sheherazade, The Magician, Ali Baba, Aladdin, Shahrayar. 

They are all available in my shop here. 

Questa nuove serie di opere è ispirata all'antica collezione di novelle asiatiche Le mille e una notte. La raccolta è una meravigliosa giustapposizione di voci, personaggi, luoghi, canzoni, indovinelli, popoli e culture. Ed è proprio questa complessità che ho cercato di evocare con i colori e le linee. 

Le opere sono create con acquerello e inchiostro su carta ruvida di alta qualità 300gr/mq 100% cotone che misura 50x50cm (le 4 opere quadrate) e 70x50 cm (l'opera rettangolare).

If you ask me, I answer zen. This is perfectly my style, especially for decorating the bedroom. where a simple, evocative image, can stand alone in a clean and empty space to be filled with dreams, emotions, meditation.

Se lo chiedete a me, io rispondo zen. E' esattamente il mio stile sopratutto per arredare la camera da letto, dove un'immagine semplice ed evocativa può stare da sola in uno spazio aperto e lasciato vuoto, da riempire con sogni, emozioni, meditazione.

I remember those walls from my childhood. In the rather cold and old living rooms of my Grandmother's friends, plates where showcased everywhere. Now those plates have come into fashion again, thanks to a great design renewal many manufacturers made during the last years. And there are many artists painting on plates. Here is an example of display.

Nei ricordi di bambina ci sono salottini un po' austeri con collezioni di piatti alle pareti, appartenenti alle amiche della nonna. Incredibile ma vero, quei piatti sono tornati in auge, anche grazie al rinnovamento del decoro apportato negli ultimi anni da varie manifatture di porcellana. Do you also think this way of displaying art is so cool? Well, I do, and it's not difficult at all, you just need to arreange your frames (different and mismatched but minimal) on the both sides of an imaginary vertical line. And apparent chaos is done.

Black and White

Black and white immediately creates a classical decoration. A wall decorated with different B&W images like paintings, collages and photography, with a frame of the same color, is a very elegant solution, particularly beautiful for smaller spaces like the bathroom or a corridor. Keep in mind that the images should look consistent, because we can find a wide range of B&W (from warmer to colder tones, like creamy or bluish) and infinite hues between the two opposites. 

Un classico della decorazione è il bianco e nero. Una parete con immagini di pitture, collages e fotografie in stile diverso, tutte rigorosamente in bianco e nero e con la cornice dello stesso colore, può essere una soluzione elegante e d'impatto, che trovo particolarmente adatta ad ambienti di piccole dimensioni, come il bagno o un corridoio. Attenzione però che le immagini formino un insieme coeso, perché ci sono vari toni di bianco e di nero (ovvero che virano ai colori caldi o freddi come il crema o il blu) e infinite sfumature comprese tra i due opposti.

When it comes to diplaying art, we do have infinite options to consider, here is the first one coming to my mind. Just one single, large artwork, can be a perfect solution for decorating any interior. It will particularly fit a relatively small space, thus avoiding it to "swim" and get lost in a bare wall. 

Quando si tratta di disporre opere d'arte in casa, abbiamo infinite opzioni da considerare, ecco la prima che mi viene in mente. Un'opera sola, molto grande, è perfetta per arricchire la casa. Meglio se si tratta di un ambiente relativamente piccolo, per evitare che "nuoti" in una parete vuota.
