The Nights
"Dark-blue the deep sphere overhead,

From Recollections of the Arabian Nights By Lord Tennyson
This new series of paintings is completely inspired to the ancient collection of Asian stories One Thousand and One Nights better known as the Arabian Nights. The collection is a marvellous juxtaposition of voices, characters, places, songs, riddles, Peoples and cultures. And this complexity is what I tried to evoke with the colors and lines.
The artworks are watercolors and ink on high quality 300gr/mq rough 100% cotton Italian paper measuring 50x50 cm ( 19.7x19.7 inches) the 4 square ones, and 70x50 cm (27.50x19.7 inches) the rectangular one.
The titles are dedicated to the charachters of the Tales: Sheherazade, The Magician, Ali Baba, Aladdin, Shahrayar.

Questa nuove serie di opere è ispirata all'antica collezione di novelle asiatiche Le mille e una notte. La raccolta è una meravigliosa giustapposizione di voci, personaggi, luoghi, canzoni, indovinelli, popoli e culture. Ed è proprio questa complessità che ho cercato di evocare con i colori e le linee.
Le opere sono create con acquerello e inchiostro su carta ruvida di alta qualità 300gr/mq 100% cotone che misura 50x50cm (le 4 opere quadrate) e 70x50 cm (l'opera rettangolare).

Fall approaching
Si capisce che sta lentamente arrivando l'autunno dal movimento lento del sole, che traccia ombre lunghe con i suoi raggi obliqui. Tramonti ventosi e notti fresche sono già qui, ma non siamo ancora pronti a mettere i sandali, e ci godiamo caldi pomeriggi.
Una nuova stagione sta cominciando, e io cerco nuove energie per creare nuove opere.
You can tell fall is slowly approaching by the slow motion of the sun tracing oblique sunbeams and longer shadows. Breezy sunsets and chilly nights are already here, still we're not ready to put off our sandals and we're so glad to enjoy warm afternoons.
A new season is beginning, and I'm finding new energies to create new works.
