Come avrai letto in un post precedente pubblicato all'inizio di marzo, e QUI c'è il link, quest'anno ho iniziato una nuova collaborazione con Laura Rovida e nel suo Rovida Lab per presentare il progetto Arte da Indossare. 

As you might have read earlier in a post published during the month of March, and HERE is the link, I started a new collaboration with Laura Rovida in her Rovida Lab for presenting the Wearable Art project. 

Il 17 agosto ho avuto il piacere di essere invitata da Laura a Capalbio per una festa di mezza estate e mostra d'arte nel suo bel negozio tra due giardini, davanti al lago di Burano e vicino al mare. 

On August 17th I had the pleasure to be invited by Laura to join her in Capalbio for a midsummer party and art exhibition in her lovely shop and lab located between two gardens just in front of the lake of Burano and by the sea.

E' stata l'occasione perfetta per scegliere un gruppetto di opere ad acquerello ispirate al mare e per presentare due nuove opere della serie DROPS dedicate al mondo sottomarino: Marine e Coral. Come ogni dipinto di questa serie, anche questi due sono stati la base per creare due nuove sciarpe per il progetto Arte da Indossare. 

This was the perfect occasion for selecting a little number of watercolour paintings inspired by the sea and for presenting two new artworks of the DROPS series dedicated to underwater world: Marine and Coral. As any other painting from the Drops series, these two were the basis for creating two new scarves for the Wearable Art project.

E' stato divertente allestire la mostra in questo spazio carino e ben tenuto e un piacere incontrare i clienti affezionati di Laura, che amano i suoi prodotti artigianali e supportano attivamente la sua arte, e spero di ripetere l'esperienza in futuro.

It was fun to prepare an exhibition in this cute little space and a pleasure to meet Laura's affectionate clients, in love with her products and actively supporting her craft, and I hope to repeat the experience in the future.

Laura Rovida is a very skilled artist creating high quality products with her birch wood looms: dresses and shirts for any season, accessories, ties, scarves and mittens, blankets and other beautiful things.

Il luogo è semplicemente meraviglioso e offre molte opportunità, come passeggiare per l'antico borgo di Capalbio, meravigliarti nello straordinario Giardino dei Tarocchi realizzato dall'artista franco-americana Niki de Saint Phalle (sono innamorata di questo luogo magico, guarda le foto QUI), o stare nella natura facendo birdwatching nella laguna di Orbetello e nel lago di Burano, o con un bagno rinfrescante al mare. Questi sono gli ultimi giorni per fare un salto al Rovida Lab, prima di una piccola pausa, non perdere l'occasione se sei in zona e ricorda che sarà aperto per tutto il mese di ottobre.

The place is just wonderful and full of opportunities: you can visit the typical village of Capalbio, the amazing Giardino dei Tarocchi created by French American artist niki de Saint Phalle (I'm simply in love with this magic place, see some pics HERE), or keep your contact with nature watching the birds of the lagoon or swimming in a blue sea. These are the last days for stepping by at the Rovida Lab, so make sure you don't miss the occasion if you happen to step by.

Tra il mare dell'Argentario e la laguna salmastra del lago di Burano, la mia Arte da Indossare ha trovato un nuovo nido accogliente e acquatico. Le stanze tra due giardini assicurano il fresco per l'estate, e un suono originale culla le ore. 

Just a few steps away from the Argentario and the salty lagoon of the Lago di Burano, my Wearable Art creations has just found a new, watery nest. The airy rooms, located between two gardens, will keep them fresh during the summer, and a peculiar sound will cradle the hours.

E' la spoletta del telaio di Laura Rovida che corre avanti e indietro, e con gesti pazienti costruisce una storia fatta di passione e bellezza. "Vedere una tessitrice al lavoro ha qualcosa di magico: dalla semplicità di un gesto ripetitivo nasce e si forma un complesso ed affascinante sistema di intrecci chiamato tessuto. I tessuti sono metafora dell'intrecciarsi di eventi, pensieri ed azioni della nostra vita" ci racconta Laura, il cui obiettivo è quello di valorizzare e reinterpretare in chiava moderna l'antica arte della tessitura a mano.

It's the spool of Laura Rovida, going forth and back, and patiently creating a story of passion and beauty. "Seeing a weaver at work is quite a magical experience: a simple and ripetitive movement gives birth to a complex and fascinating twine called textile. Textiles are a metaphor of the way events, actions and thought intertwine in our lives" says Laura, whose goal is to enhance and reinterpretate this ancient art in a contemporary manner.

I tessuti di Laura sono vivi, pezzi unici realizzati completamente a mano, con amore e cura per i particolari, piccolissime serie fatte con antichi telai manuali secondo scrupolosi criteri eco sostenibili e materiali naturali.

Laura's textiles are alive, unique and entirely handmade with love and care for the details, limited series made with ancient style looms, following ecological and sustainable criteria and natural materials. 

Diversi e addirittura opposti nel modo di produzione, ma complementari nell'intento e nella passione per la ripetizione delle forme e dei pattern, i nostri lavori e mondi si armonizzano perfettamente. Le sciarpe del progetto Arte da Indossare sono fedeli stampe delle opere DROPS, da me appositamente realizzate con acquerello e inchiostro su carta. A quel punto il mio lavoro è fatto e la produzione affidata alla stampa. 

Different and opposite in the production process, but complementary in many ways and in the passion for patterns, our works and worlds are a perfect match. The scarves of my Wearable art project are a faithful reproduction of the artworks DROPS, that I specifically create with watercolour and ink on paper. Then my job is done and the production becomes the printer's duty.
