New greeting cards and postcards have arrived just in time before the holiday season, so if you're looking for artistic cards for your friends you can have a wide choice.

Nuovi biglietti di auguri e cartoline sono arrivati in tempo prima dell'inizio delle feste, così se stai cercando biglietti artistici per i tuoi amici hai un'ampia scelta dalla quale attingere.

These postcards and cards are printed with some series of my watercolour paintings and ink drawing on paper, namely BOTANICA: FALL, OCEAN and PRAIRIE, and a series called PINK TALES, all gathered in groups of 6.

Infatti questi biglietti e cartoline riproducono alcune serie di opere ad acquerello e inchiostro su carta, per l'esattezza BOTANICA: FALL, OCEAN and PRAIRIE e una serie chiamata RACCONTI ROSA, tutti raccolti in gruppi di 6.

This group of six reproduces the artworks PINK TALES. This series was created thanks to the publisher Graphe, for becoming the covers of the series of short tales inspired to and written by women. Colours range from orange to red and pink ...

The second group of six reproduces the artworks BOTANICA, PRAIRE, inspired to the plants living in this habitat. Colours are very delicate.

Questo secondo gruppo da sei riproduce le opere BOTANICA, PRAIRIE. The series is inspired to the plants living the prairie. I colori sono molto delicati e polverosi.

The third group of six is printed with the artworks BOTANICA, FALL, inspired to the warm and earthy colors of autumn.

Il terzo gruppo da sei è stampato con le opere BOTANICA, FALL, ispirato ai colori caldi dell'autunno.

With the last group of six we enter the magic world of water, through the artworks BOTANICA, OCEAN, inspired to sealife with different hues of blue.

Con l'ultimo gruppo da sei entriamo nel magico mondo acquatico, attraverso le opere BOTANICA, OCEAN, ispirate alla vita di mare con diverse tonalità di blu.

All greeting cards are completely blank inside and bring the logo and the website on the back, while the back of the postcards is shown in the photo below.

Also, I love this paper, both for the high quality, the great print and for being FSC certified, meaning it comes from responsible use of the forests.

Tutti i biglietti d'auguri sono completamente bianchi all'interno e hanno il logo sul retro, mentre il retro delle cartoline è quello mostrato qui sotto.

Mi piace questa carta per l'ottima qualità, la bella stampa e perché è certificata FSC, quindi prodotta da uso responsabile delle foreste.

I'm so lucky to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and rich with art from a glorious past, that led us to have so many art schools flourish and prosper over the centuries. This means that we also have the possibility to enter so many art supplies shops which would deserve a dedicated post, entirely packed with totally rad things, that would make you instantly long for buying whatever your bike can carry, go home and work alone in your studio for a whole week without talking to anyone. Or at least this is the effect on me! And this is why I try and visit those places random and with a very specific shopping list. But what I sometimes love to note on my shopping list is - Post Cards Paper.

Sono così fortunata a vivere in una delle più belle città del mondo, ricca di arte di un glorioso passato, che ci ha lasciato in eredità molte scuole d'arte, che hanno fiorito e prosperato nei secoli. Questo significa che abbiamo anche la possibilità di entrare in molti negozi di belle arti, che meriterebbero un post dedicato, pieni zeppi di cose fantastiche , che ti fanno venire voglia di comprare subito tutto quello che la tua bici può trasportare, andare a casa, chiuderti nel tuo studio e starci una settimana senza vedere nessuno. O almeno, questo è l'effetto che fa su di me. Per questo cerco sempre di centellinare le visite e preparare una lista della spesa molto precisa. Ma una delle cose che mi piace spesso smettere nella mia lista è la carta d'acquerello per cartoline.

I made a brief research and found out many curious things about postcards. Did you know that the study and collecting of postcards is termed deltiology? The word comes from Greek δελτίον, deltion, diminutive of δέλτος, deltos, "writing tablet, letter"; and -λογία, -logia. And did you know the world's oldest postcard was probably sent in 1840 to the writer Theodore Hook from London, England? And did you know that the writer was probably the same person as the recipient, having the writer posted the card to himself? In fact, he was well known for his practical jokes, and it's funny to know that the first postcard ever was meant to be a joke for postmen. But I'm pretty sure you don't know that postcard collectors must be very serious about their passion, at the point that in 2002 the first postcard ever appeared on earth, the one written by and to Theodore Hook, sold for a record £31,750!

Ho fatto una breve ricerca e ho scoperto molte cose curiose sulle cartoline. Sapevi che lo studio e il collezionare cartoline si chiama deltiologia? La parola viene dal greco δελτίον, deltion, diminutivo di δέλτος, deltos, "tavoletta per scrivere, lettera" e -λογία, -logia. E sapevi che la più antica cartolina del mondo fu probabilmente spedita nel 1840 dallo scrittore Theodore Hook di Londra? E che il mittente e il destinatario erano la stessa persona, ovvero lo scrittore stesso? Infatti era conosciuto per essere un burlone ed è buffo pensare che la prima cartolina spedita fu probabilmente uno scherzo per chi lavorava alle poste. Ma sono piuttosto sicura che non sapete che i collezionisti di cartoline sono molto seri riguardo alla loro passione, tanto che nel 2002 la prima cartolina apparsa sulla terra, quella di Theodore Hook, fu venduta per una cifra record di 31, 750 sterline!

Postcard collectors sport very varied tastes about the topic of their postcars, ranging from city views to portraits, from limited editions for special occasions to advertising. But the ones I'm interested to are those collecting Artist Signed Postcards, with artworks that has the artist's signature, and the art is often unique for postcards. This is a very typical tradition, and The Royal Watercolour Society, together with the Bankside Gallery, curates exhibitions of Artist artworks the size of a postcard, for an affordable art selection.

I collezionisti di cartoline hanno gusti molto variegati rispetto al tema ritratto sulle cartoline, che va da viste di città a ritratti, da edizioni limitate per occasioni speciali alla pubblicità. I collezionisti che mi interessano sono quelli che raccolgono Cartoline d'Artista, raffiguranti opere, spesso originali e unici, con la firma dell'autore. Questa è una tipica tradizione anglosassone tanto che anche The Royal Watercolour Society, together with the Bankside Gallery, cura mostre fatte di opere d'artista grandi come cartoline, per una selezione di arte per tutte le tasche.

I've always loved writing, receiving, purchasing, and since I started this job, producing postcards. Most of them are printed and you can find them HERE. There is something so creative and instantly inspiring about postcards, not to mention the terribly human communicative wight they bring. Even if some of these communications usually would deserve and be written on greeting cards or letters, their content jealously protected by an envelope, still I can imagine that over the time people have been informed about things like the birth of a child, the end of a love, the winning of a great sum of money, the death of a dear one, the invitation to a ball, or the winning of a contest through a postcard.

Ho sempre amato scrivere, ricevere, comprare, e perfino, da quando faccio questo lavoro, produrre cartoline. La maggior parte di loro sono stampate e le potete trovare QUI. C'è qualcosa di così creativo e istantaneamente capace di dare ispirazione nelle cartoline, per non parlare del carico comunicativo terribilmente umano che trasportano. Anche se la maggior parte di queste comunicazioni di solito meriterebbero di essere scritte in un bigliettino o meglio ancora in una lettera, posso comunque immaginare che nel tempo le persone abbiano ricevuto informazioni riguardo alla nascita di un bimbo, la fine di un amore, la vincita di una grande somma di denaro, la morte di una persona cara, l'invito ad un ballo, la vittoria ad un concorso e chissà che altro tramite una cartolina.

These postcards are very similar to the background I sometimes use for the DROPS series. Drops of colour dripped on Langton paper. The colours I chose are blue, pink and yellow, with a touch of green and peach. They bring my stamp and signature on the back.

Queste cartoline sono molto simili allo sfondo che a volte ho usato per la serie DROPS. Gocce di colore che sgocciola sulla carta, stavolta Langton. I colori che ho scelto sono il blu, il giallo e il rosa, con un tocco di verde e pesca. Il mio timbro e la firma sono sul retro.
