CELLS
WATERCOLOR PAINTINGS
These works are inspired by the generative power and vital force of Nature, particularly of the vegetable kingdom, Seen as a symbol of eternal becoming and flowing of life and death, crisis and rebirth, renewal and regeneration. I named this series Seeds and Cells because the shapes I painted call to mind capsules and cells generating many forms of life. The Cells can also be units whose outline remind stones, animals, rocks and so forth, as if they were small fractals.
Questi lavori sono ispirati alla capacità generatrice e alla forza vitale naturale e in particolar modo vegetale, vista come simbolo dell’eterno divenire e fluire di vita e morte, crisi e rinascita, rinnovamento e rigenerazione. Li ho chiamati Semi e Cellule perchè le forme che ho dipinto ricordano i tegumenti e le cellule germinatrici di molteplici forme di vita. Sono inoltre unità i cui contorni evocano sassi, animali, formazioni rocciose o altro, come se fossero dei piccoli frattali.
